Hey dude!

Today I want to talk to you about 3 things:

1. Your Purpose
2. Being in Community
3. Letting Your Light SHINE

You are here for a reason.

Every day you wake up, it is because God still has a purpose for you to fulfill on this earth.

There is something He wants to partner with you on to do in this world.

Don’t get me wrong, discovering your purpose takes most people time.

Only 25% of people know what their purpose is.

But there is still purpose in your journey to discovering it.

Because everything you do and experience in life is a puzzle piece to your destiny.

In the meantime, we have to do what we can with what we have.

And a big part of figuring out our purpose in life is found in community.

Community

God and science both back up how we are supposed to be in community. For the sake of our health and for the sake of other people.

It literally shortens our life if we live in isolation for long periods of time.

So now that we’re on the same page about us needing to physically be around and interact with other people (and I’m talking to the introverts waaaay in the back! I see you!), let's talk about what naturally happens in a community:

• We talk to each other. (duhhh! 😂) I know it sounds obvious, but a lot of people avoid face-to-face interactions. Or are really bad at communication.

Have you heard of the Gen Z stare? It's infuriating lol

Moving on!

• We vibe with each other.
• We share our gifts and talents.
• We teach and learn from each other.
• We share our faith and give each other hope.
• We bring clarity when someone is confused or deceived.
• We share stories, experiences, and laugh with one another.
• And we overcome things that we typically couldn’t overcome on our own.
• We correct each other when we see a person might be doing something wrong, or are doing things the HARD way.

The Bible calls this letting our light shine.

Whether you know what your purpose is or not, a part of your purpose is to be a light for other people.

Hint: Your purpose will include the things you're good at, enjoy doing/are passionate about, and benefits other people. The natural gifts we are born with are clues too.

How To Shine Your Light

This could look like shining your light through making content or shining your light on people in-person.

• Teach
• Inspire
• Entertain
• Encourage
• Share stories
• Give tips and tricks
• Share your gifts and talents
• Debunk lies and fake information

Whether you are 17 or 87, you’ve lived enough life and have had enough experiences to share SOMETHING.

This Week's Actionable Tips:

• Start journaling your wisdom. What can you shine your light on?
• Find a community (in-person if possible) to get in OR build a community yourself!

I like the idea of building my own community through hosting events, paint parties, and I was always active in after-school clubs.

No more gatekeeping.

Someone needs to hear what you have to say.

God says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."

The knowledge you have could be a matter of life and death. Yes, it is that deep.

Whether you're Christian or not, it's your duty as a human to be a light to others.

Let's get good at being human, and help each other by shining our light in this world.
